HairShaft holds tournament for House with No Steps Foundation
Leading hair and beauty salon HairShaft is looking into providing sustainable income for the beneficiaries of House with No Steps Foundation with their livelihood laundry project in partnership with Breakfast Ride Community.
Through its 1st HarShaft Golf Invitational, spearheaded by owner Fred Penales and wife Lucy held last August 20 at the Camp Aguinaldo Golf Course, the House with No Steps Foundation received commercial LG washers and dryers to aide them in their laundry services program, all worth 8 million pesos.
A staunch supporter of various charity organizations even before the establishment of HairShaft, Penales said that this fundraising event envisions helping Persons with Disabilities to be empowered while being productive citizens of the country.
For their part, HairShaft is not only committed in bringing out the best in their customers. Its goal is to also empower other people, especially people in marginalized sectors such PWDs, in living life to the fullest.
In an interview, Lucy shares how the foundation has inspired them to give back. She was inspired by how the Breakfast Ride Community has been an avid supporter of the foundation, and thus they both decided to spearhead a project supporting the same beneficiaries.
"Fred and I (Lucy) rides motorcycle. In reality, time will come when we get old, all us will become PWD's somehow or in our way, like riding motorcycle if we don't ride safely we might end up in a wheelchair," she says. "For us HWNSF symbolizes hope and never giving up."
Lucy added that hope and never giving up is also part of HairShaft's values.
The play for a cause event was followed by the Fundraising Bike Night Dinner Show where celebrity partners performed for the attendees.
Also present in the event were HairShaft angels and celebrity partners Dingdong Avandazado, Jessa Zaragoza, Noel Cabangon, Katya Santos, Ton-Ton Gutierrez, Kris Lawrence, among others.
"HWNSF is very close to Motorcycle Community where Fred and his close friends passionately do their project for Pwd's empowerment," she says. "For them riding is more fun if you can share your blessing from God with the needy."
Penales also encourages businesses to support the livelihood program through getting their services for their laundries.
She also wishes that through this cause, partner businesses can spread the word about the livelihgood program. in fact, for every purchase of laundry washer, five percent of the price will also be given to the foundation.
Penales added that this is charity event will not be the last one. Their plans include future benefit shows for other charities.
